about

Tracks 1-5: OPERATOR PT.1 Tracks 6-10: OPERATOR PT.2

The mind is like a circuit board.

OPERATOR is influenced by both dance music as well as the dark pulsing synths and sound design common in electronic soundtracks. The intent of operator is to capture the sound of the mind processing information. Through a complex web of pathways similar to electrical circuitry, connections are made, problems are unraveled, and ideas are born. OPERATOR is the sound of discovery.

Many of the sounds were programmed and played on the Teenage Engineering Pocket Operators. They are fantastic little synthesizers.

All music composed and performed by Bryce Miller.

Inspirations include: John Carpenter, Cliff Martinez (Drive, Only God Forgives, The Knick), Disasterpeace (It Follows), Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (Social Network, Gone Girl, Girl With the Dragon Tattoo), Vangelis, Johnny Jewel (Glass Candy, Symmetry), Krzysztof Penderecki (Used in The Shining), Tangerine Dream, Rob (Maniac), Goblin, Daft Punk (Tron), Mica Levi (Under the Skin)
